Walnut Creek, California. We are looking for senior Java software developers
with hands-on
J2EE experience using JBoss, BEA, and/or Websphere application servers. We develop
and maintain high-quality software applications, libraries, and frameworks that
are deployed across multiple product lines, business-critical applications, and
integrated enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze business problems and requirements and propose appropriate
technical solutions with professional, concise, and traceable documentation.
- Design and implement Java software applications using a variety of tools
and platforms, including open source products.
- Facilitate adoption of reusable components by providing training, coaching,
and mentoring other developers as needed.
- Deliver rapid and seamless updates to the production environment by deploying
high quality changes on schedule within a fixed maintenance cycle.
- Facilitate integration and system testing activities.
- Coordinate and participate in development activities with onshore and
offshore technical personnel.
- Participate regularly in design and code walkthroughs, applying coding
standards and style guidelines consistently.
- Create system and support documentation for all components.
- Apply industry best practices to all architecture, design, and programming
activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Three or more years of application development experience in Java (J2SE/J2EE)
- Minimum five years experience with distributed development including
system integration across multiple platforms (e.g. desktop, midrange, mainframe,
etc.)

Mastery of the primary usage patterns of the following critical Java API’s:
- J2SE (lang, util, io, net, security, reflection)
- Concurrency and Serialization
- Java 2 Security and JAAS
- JUnit, Ant, CVS, Eclipse, and related developer tooling
- Jakarta Commons, Log4J, Tomcat, Struts, Torque
- JAXP (DOM and SAX, Transform)
- JDBC (DataSource and DriverManager)
- JNDI
- J2EE (JSP/Servlet, EJB)
- Swing/AWT
- Expert knowledge of one or more J2EE platforms such as Websphere , BEA,
or JBoss
- Must have real-world experience delivering large-scale system solutions
using Java architecture patterns, especially MVC and N-Tier.
- Experience with a variety of formal methodologies and disciplines for
delivering new or enhanced applications (XP, RUP, ISO).
- The candidate must have hands-on experience with service-oriented architecture
(SOA) and distributed application solutions, including SOAP, UDDI,
and related web services technologies.
- Self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to learn beyond formal training
- Able to work quickly and competently with little administrative guidance
