System Monitoring
Leveraging the open source Nagios monitoring software, Tachometry has fine-tuned our production server environment to support 24/7 monitoring and notification of service (SMTP, POP3, HTTP, NNTP, PING, etc.), resource (processor load, disk and memory usage, running processes, log files, etc.), and security (access, attempts, port filtering, etc.) performance. The monitoring allows us to respond quickly to any potential issue, and allows us to help you plan for scalability in the future.
Disaster Recovery
Every deployed production environment has a focus on disaster recovery. Regular file-system and database backups are performed (daily or more frequent as needed) to protect your software investment from attack or corruption. We also perform regular cross-system backups across a back plane interface with another server in the same physical location to support quick recovery in case of a primary system failure, as well as a system off-site to protect against a catastrophic failure of the target data center. While the disaster recovery plan can be customized to meet your specific needs, you can have confidence that we are thinking actively about how to protect your technology investment.
Ticketing System
As custom development specialists, we realize that the software life cycle doesn't stop at deployment. We work with our clients to make sure that there is a clear process for managing perceived software defects, or system enhancements. Using Tachometry's OpenVelocity system, we can manage the change request process following our refined Unified Process methodology, or customize it to meet your internal processes such as the Capability Maturity Model (CMM).
Deployment Support
Whether deployed in-house with out clients, or directly in our data center, Tachometry follows best-practice disciplines for managing the deployment of application releases and patches. After our suite of development-level regression is completed, we will generally deploy all changes to a like-system environment for final user acceptance testing. After you have had complete access to evaluate the modifications on a like non-production system is the patch or release scheduled to be migrated the production environment. This value-added service is one of just many ways that we hope to meet your functional and non-functional requirements.
Source Code Management
As open source integration experts, we specialize in implementing high-coupled/low-cohesion solutions to allow disparate systems to participate in a heterogeneous environment. So, while you will not normally need to maintain a clone of project code to support the integration, you can rest assured that you will have access to the code written to support your integration project whenever you need it. With management-level access through the OpenVelocity project management portal and director level access via direct synchronization with out Subversion repository, access to your custom development investment remains available whenever you need it.
